- All positions filled for the 2008 season. Positions available in the Ice Cream Shop (Strawbery Alley) for a maximum of 10 hours per week (hours will vary). The position duties include waiting on customers, scooping ice cream, keeping the shop clean and reporting any product or supply needs to the Manager. Shop will open full time in June from noon – 8pm. Rate of pay: $8.00 per hour. Visitor Service Associate
(Seasonal) - All positions filled for the 2008 season. Position available at Pitt Tavern for a maximum of 30 hours per week. The position duties involve selling tickets to Museum visitors. The Tavern will be open from May 1st through October 1st from 10am – 4pm daily. Rate of pay: $8.00 per hour. Historic Interpreters (Seasonal)*
- All positions filled for the 2008 season. Help history explorers find their roots in the evolving American story! As a historic interpreter, you’ll assist visitors in exploring our historic houses, gardens, exhibits and grounds. Qualifications: Enjoyment of learning, good public speaking skills, general knowledge of and interest in history, a willingness to engage visitors of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities. Bachelors’ degree preferred. Rate of pay: $8.00 per hour. Historic Roleplayers (Seasonal)*
- All positions filled for the 2008 season. Portray real and composite characters from three time periods across three centuries. Roleplayers draw visitors into conversations with the past by performing in character using the language, customs, and costume of another time period. Qualifications: Theatrical or reenacting experience, strong knowledge of and interest in a specific time period, and a willingness to dress in detailed historic costume. Rate of pay: $8.00 per hour. Museum Teachers (Seasonal)*
- All positions filled for the 2008 season. Lead small-group, hands-on workshops for students in grades K-12. These 90-minute, focused workshops help children explore the past with all their senses. Museum Teachers use lesson plans and class materials to make history fun for teachers and their students. Qualifications: Experience working with children in an educational setting, good speaking skills and questioning techniques. Rate of pay: $8.00 per hour. |
